This position requires a motivated, self-starting individual with an interest and background in electrical and controls design and development for robotic platforms. Responsibilities include electrical and electro-mechanical systems testing and analysis, prototyping electrical design and assemblies, and test fixture design. Additional responsibilities may include controls design for robotic systems, microprocessor control design, or test software design. The position requires a person who is hands-on and takes initiative. There are many creative opportunities for a talented individual.
The ideal candidate has a working understanding of basic electrical circuits, familiarity with microcontrollers, basic soldering skills, familiarity with hand tools and electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes. A software‑oriented candidate should be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of programming languages such as C and Labview. A hardware‑oriented candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with power supplies, motors, and wireless communications. There is no formal training therefore a motivated student is required.
Candidates should be able to explain previous engineering work, particularly in the field of robotics. Candidates must be currently enrolled in or be a graduate of an Electrical or Computer Engineering Bachelors Degree Program. Knowledge of Microsoft Programs required.
