    A candidate for this position should have the following skill set and meet the following criteria.

    *Nice to have, but not must have.

    The Ideal candidate should know and understand all aspects of machine shop tools, tooling, and safe use and care of listed machines and equipment. He or she should know how to operate machines to cut, shape or form metal or other composites.


    Skills and functions:

    • Reads and interprets blue prints and hand drawn sketches
    • Capable of operating CNC Machines
    • Capable of using saws, drill presses and hand tools
    • Capable of manufacturing basic parts on manual milling machines and lathes
    • * Capable of operating a forklift (license not required. We will cert.)
    • Understanding of measuring tools and their function
    • Attaches fixtures to machine bed and position/secure work piece in fixture according to instructions
    • Maintain high level of quality of job throughout the manufacturing process
    • Able to keep a clean and safe workplace

    Machine shop general tools and equipment:

    • Tool room lathe (knowledge of single point)
    • Band saw (use and operation)
    • Horizontal grinder
    • Calipers (analog or digital)

    Set up and operate:

    • 3 axis Manual Mill
    • 15” swing lathe
    • 2 axis Proto Track M2 Sport
    • 2 axis Proto Track SMX Bridgeport
    • 3 Axis Proto Track SMX DPM
    • 4 Axis HAAS TM 2
    • 2-D/3-D CAM- CAD

    Design and Machine computer tools:

    • Master Cam release 8 (Draw in 2D, 3D, and programming)
    • *2D and 3D solid modeling experience (Pro E, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar type programs)

    Education and Experience:

    • Graduate of formal Machine shop schooling
    • Certificate of Achievement from Master Cam training 
    • With at least 5 years’ experience in a machine shop
    • *The ability to weld a plus
