    Key Responsibilities

    • Strategically lead a team of engineers in the delivery of product and projects.
    • The Engineering Team Lead between your team and the VP, Land Systems.
    • Work with program management to clearly outline alternatives, pros/cons, and risk mitigations to different projects.
    • Implements engineering best practices and programs that motivate the engineering team to excel within the product development process and manages a team of 3 engineering team leaders.
    • Provide technical advice on any problems, when appropriate
    • Work with VP, Land Systems   in developing tasks and goals for the engineering team.
    • Guides the technical review of system design and documentation. Develops continuous improvement plan.
    • Performs leading-edge areas of work for the professional field.  Preempts potential problems and provides effective guidance and oversight to projects.
    • Displays original thinking in applying principles, theories, and concepts on a wide range of problems. Recommends the best internal team for the project in conjunction with PM’s. Evaluates need for external resources with PM’s and provides recommendations.
    • Verifies standards conformance during project execution. Support overall program managers and engineering team in project execution to deliver expected project performance requirements.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience. MS in engineering preferred.
    • Engineering experience with Robotics (software or hardware would be ideal)
    • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills, including the ability to express ideas concisely and clearly cross-functionally and at all levels within the company
    • Sound decision-making skills
    • High attention to detail and self-driven
    • Drives efficiency in late-stage product development and sustainment.  Works effectively with production, maintenance and repair, and quality to continually improve life-cycle costs of our products and improve quality. 
    • Has a demonstrated track record in successfully transitioning electromechanical products from engineering into production.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Experience in a fast paced engineering team. DOD experience helpful but not required.
