    Job purpose:

    Will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing of management activities to control and verify hardware and software configuration in accordance to program requirements. Person will manage and participate in the effort to establish and maintain product baselines throughout the products lifecycle. Configuration Manager will insure that all attributes of the product baseline are captured and can be traced to any point in time. This position will manage the design and product baseline for hardware and software products.


    Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


    1. Develop Configuration Management processes to comply with internal and external customer requirements.
    2. Develop Configuration Management Plans to support projects and products.
    3. Manage change management system; conduct training of the change management and data management systems & tools.
    4. Data Management support and planning to meet the program CDRL and SDRL requirements to customers & Prime Contractors for DoD programs: interface with client configuration managers (Prime Contractor and DoD) as well as subcontractor configuration management.   
    5. Review and approve documents to insure that they meet the company configuration requirements.
    6. Work within the PDM system to process documents for consumption.
    7. Use the Configuration Management Database to collect change management performance metrics.
    8. Ability to lead a configuration management board.
    9. Manage configuration within the MRP system tool.
    10. Support configuration audits for ISO, CMMI, and other external entities and customer Physical Configuration Audits (PCA).
    11. Create, manage and sustain project Configuration Status Account Reports (CSAR).
    12. Supports the CMMI Level III environment by participating in Systems Engineering Process Group (SEPG), Writing and maintaining processes.

    Required Skills:


    • 5+ years of experience of developing configuration work products and managing baselines.
    • Working knowledge of Mil Handbook MIL-HDBK-61A & ANSI EIA-649-B. 
    • Worked in a CMMI level 3 organization.
    • Excellent People Skills – Must be capable of leading a team of technical personnel, capable of conflict resolution. Must be capable of managing a customer to assure the customer’s needs are met without incurring scope growth.

    Desired Skills

    • Database Management – Experience managing and maintaining a PDM database (Synergis Adept a positive).
    • CMMI - Working knowledge CMMI process environment Software - Experience in Object Oriented Design and Requirements Development with real-time systems.
    • 5+ years of working with a Product Data Management database.


    1. 8+ years of configuration management experience with a DoD customer base.
    2. BS Engineer or BA Business or related field.
