    QinetiQ North America (QNA) has an exciting internship opportunity for a creative, resourceful, team-oriented individual who is pursuing a degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field of safety studies. The position will support EHS at QNA’s Waltham & Franklin Campus, reliable transportation is required.


    Project Objective

    The EHS Intern position involves a summer opportunity for an undergraduate student for approximately 3 months. The scope of the internship involves assisting with corporate mandated Environment Health & Safety programs and day to activities in the following areas:

    • Environmental program support through data gathering for reports and permitting activities.
    • Developing and administering health & safety training programs.
    • Conduct EH&S inspections/audits
    • Written safety requirements for Control of Hazardous Energy Standard, Personal Protective Equipment Standard, Hazard Communication Standard, and Emergency Preparedness, etc.

    Responsibilities may include: drafting EH&S procedures, monitoring engineering process controls, gathering information necessary for reporting and complying with state, federal and local EH&S requirements, identifying training needs/developing training materials and presentations.


    Candidate Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will be familiar with Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint as well as Microsoft Assess software.  In addition to computer skills the candidate should possess a basic understanding of Environmental Management Systems, programs and regulations along with the ability to work independently and relate well with QNA employees and external contacts.


    Reporting Structure

    The candidate will report to the Environment Health & Safety Manager.
