Responsibilities

Senior Systems Engineer

 

Position will be responsible for logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into a total systems solution. Lead/Specialists complete or manage the logical systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. This person will be responsible for using best of practice processes to integrate multiple engineering disciplines to support the transformation of customer needs to a life-cycle balanced customer solution. The position will use expert knowledge of system engineering or system engineering management process to guide project development teams. Responsible for technical interface with the customer on all processes involved in system engineering. This position will also include evaluating the systems logistics and lifecycle support requirements.  This person will also be a key stakeholder in supporting the group’s continuing process improvement initiatives by analyzing key metrics and making recommendations for improvement.

 

This person will be a hands on person that will work with design engineers to develop a system engineered design.  Must have a proven track record as a System engineer on DoD development programs. Should have knowledge and experience in systems engineering in the following areas: Mission Requirements Analysis, System Hierarchy and Specification Tree development; Functional Analysis; Systems Integration; Requirements Flowdown and Allocation; Trade Studies; System Synthesis; Configuration Definition and Management; Risk Analysis, Hazard Analysis. Candidate should also have experience in performance Verification and Validation (V&V); Integrated Logistics Support (ILS); Logistics Analysis and Engineering (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) and/or; Modification Management.

  • Specialty Engineering (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability, FMECA, Hazard Analysis, Obsolescence Management)
  • Lead teams with electrical, software, systems and quality engineers to achieve project deliverables

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 6 years’ experience.
  • Experience with military and commercial standards (MIL-STD-461, MIL-S-901D, IPC-610, etc.)
  • Experience working on DoD Programs for both surface and submersible applications
  • Experience developing and overseeing environmental tests

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in requirements management and troubleshooting of complex issues.
  • Experience with DOORS or an equivalent Requirement Management tool
  • Experience with RELEX or equivalent Reliability Analysis tool
  • Experience with fielded Navy systems
  • Familiar with embedded hardware and firmware design
  • Familiarity with CMMI Level 3 Processes
