Qinetiq North America is seeking an innovative & motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the Land Systems division in support of the Survivability product line. Responsibilities include the design, fabrication, testing and verification efforts throughout all technology lifecycles. This role will act as integration & development POC for new and existing vehicle, aircraft, and fixed site platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all aspects of product development (design, develop, prototype, verification, and production)
  • Perform design verification through finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Work in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • Evaluate customer requirements
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines throughout the product lifecycle
  • Prioritize and organize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Prepare product reports, test reports and documentation
  • Creation of cost estimates for new and emerging opportunities



  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience in a technical environment & a proven track record in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in CREO 2.0
  • Solid knowledge of core engineering concepts including mechanics, kinematics, & materials science
  • Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) and finite element analysis (ANSYS)
  • Experience with casting, welding, and sheet metal design a plus
  • Excellent communication & problem solving skills with technical and non-technical interactions
  • Self-motivated, highly organized and hands on
  • Demonstrated creativity, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
