Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer shall lead efforts in designing, building, and testing of electrical systems for military, commercial and industrial electronic applications. The candidate will provide electrical engineering expertise and participate in multi-discipline integrated product team working closely with Program Managers and Systems, Software, Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineers.

 

The candidate will be responsible for developing, designing, building, testing/debugging, a wide range of electrical devices from circuit card level to system level design, all with varying complexity. The candidate will participate in the formal Engineering Change Process and provide leadership and guidance to other engineers. Majority of the programs have challenging requirements and the candidate will be expected to review, understand, and manage the requirements documentation through the lifecycle of the program. The candidate shall be responsible for creation of design verification tests and root cause analysis.  The candidate shall also be “hands-on” with abilities support Electrical design and product issues related to various DOD and commercial pre-production and production programs. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for  leading research, development, design, test, and integration of electronic and electro-mechanical systems efforts for Military and commercial equipment.
  • Support peer reviews and provide guidance to other engineers on the program.
  • “Hands on” troubleshooting experience, with the capabilities to prepare and/or create complex test protocols and procedures.
  • Identify problems and formulate solutions, collects data through observation and experimentation and is capable of developing test procedures to prove or dis-prove failures and suggested solutions.
  • Capable of clearly documenting, communicating, and summarizing technical findings to all discipline and management levels.
  • Perform and support design reviews for both digital and analog circuit boards of varying complexity.
  • Proactively identifies, communicates, and refers problems to senior staff members or supervisors.
  • Occasionally travel to support customers and vendors on site (approx. 10%).

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of OrCAD, PADS, Altium, AutoCAD and Solidworks
  • Experience with leading the Hardware Development Process, including CM, MRB, SDR and analysis
  • Hands-on experience with the full product life-cycle from engineering proposal to manufacturing release
  • Experience with military and commercial standards (MIL-STD-461, MIL-S-901D, IPC-610, FCC/CE)
  • Familiar with MATLAB, C/C++ and other programming languages.
  • Familiar with mixed signal schematic and PCB layout techniques

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with the customer
  • Knowledge of MCAD and ECAD tools used for electro-mechanical design and BOM management
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities on multiple tasks
  • Experience in requirements management and troubleshooting of complex issues.
  • Ability to lead teams with electrical, software, systems and quality engineers to achieve project deliverables
  • Lead customer meetings to obtain detailed information related to project requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 to 10 years of experience.
